Ernest seems to be a perfectly appropriate name for the softly spoken cultural officer chosen from a group of his peers at Saturday night's Cairns Tourism Awards. Ernest won the association's top annual gong for excellence, the Kamsler Award, from a field of eight other nominees, each selected by visitors to the region as having given outstanding service in their line of duty.
